FAQs
How to get start?
Kicking off a project is easy. Please submit your 3D files and 2D drawings through our quote request page. Or you can send your drawing to engineer@rpdmfg.com directly. Our engineering team will review your specification and send a formal quote within 24–48 working hours. If you are green hands, we also have Resources pages provide you basic learning of custom parts, If you’re in the early stages and no drawings, don’t hesitate to send rough photos, an existing part, or even a quick sketch. Our team will take a look and connect with you as soon as possible.
How to get quote & place order?
We use a formal internal quoting system. After receiving your files, our project team analyzes them and finalizes the price. You will receive the official quote by email. A dedicated contact person will follow up on your quote and order, providing timely updates via email, phone, or WhatsApp, so you get the answers and information you need as quickly as possible.
What 's Payment terms does RPD support??
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, PayPal, and credit card.
Do you offer monthly payment plans?
Yes, but only for eligible customers upon request. Net‑30 or installment options are available after review by our sales team. Approval requires a company background check, and terms are not offered to new customers.
What's order warranty?
Once of the reasons engineers purchase from RPD is that we take on all the risks for you. We guarantee you’ll love what you get. Not happy with it? We’ll either redo it or give you a full refund. Your purchase is completely risk-free.
How do you control quality?
We perform ISO 9001 inspection standard and final dimensional/surface/assemble/package checking on every order. Inspection reports, materials, RoHS, Reach, etc certificate, can be provided on request.
What's capacities? Any certificate?
CNC Machining Capabilities
100+ CNC centers/lathes supporting 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling and turning, with approximately 100 materials options and surface finishes available. Maximum part size: 4000×1500×600mm. Standard tolerance: ±0.025mm (ISO 2768), with tighter tolerances available upon request (may increase cost and complexity). Capable of both rapid prototyping to volume production. For more details, click our Capacibilities pages.
Mold & Injection Molding Capabilities
We offer rapid tooling, conventional injection molds, die-casting molds, two-shot molds, insert molding, family mold, multi-cavity molds, and silicone molds. Injection molding and die-casting presses range from 100T to 1600T, accommodating parts up to 1.5 meters in size.
Sheet Metal Fabrication Capabilities
Maximum part size: 1500×3000mm.
Certifications
ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, IATF 16949:2016, FDA Registered.
What file formats do you accept for custom manufacturing?
We accept STEP, IGES, STL and SolidWorks files for 3D models, along with PDF and DWG for 2D engineering drawings. 2D drawings are required when tight tolerances or special surface finishes are needed.
What shipping terms, methods, and transit times do you offer?
We typically quote on EXW or DAP terms, but can also accommodate EXW, FOB, DDU, or DDP upon request.
Term highlights:
EXW – You handle everything from our factory onward.
FOB – We ship to the port; you cover freight, insurance, and customs from there.
DAP – We deliver to your location; you handle unloading and final costs.
DDU – We deliver to destination; you pay import duties and inland freight.
DDP – We cover everything including freight, insurance, customs, and duties to your door.
Shipping methods: Express( UPS, DHL, Fedex, TNT, etc), air, sea, or multimodal transport available.
Transit time: 3-7 working days for express or air, 20-35 days for sea or multimodal transport.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
We support both prototype low-volume orders and mass-production runs. There is no strict MOQ for prototypes. MOQ can be 1 ea.
What tolerances can you achieve for CNC-machined parts?
Different material, design and process have different tolerance. Normal tolerance is ±0.01mm – ±0.002mm custom CNC machining components. See our tolerance standard page for more details.
Can you help optimize my design for manufacturing (DFM)?
Yes. Our engineering team reviews every design for manufacturability and will suggest design improvements before machining starts.
Can you manufacture parts according to GD&T drawings?
Yes. we quote and process your parts strict follow with your GD&T drawings. You will be appreciated provide complete 2D drawings and 3D file when submitting your RFQ.
How long is the typical lead time for custom parts?
Prototype lead time normally 2 to 7 working days. Mass production lead time depends on process method, part complexity, material and order volume. For example, 5-axis cnc milling machining, quantity 100 pcs, leadtime is around 10- 15 working days. metal stamping 10000 pcs, lead time is around 15-20 working days. Rapid mold of injection plastic parts or die casting is around 15-25 working days. Additive manufacturing, SLA, SLS, FDM, SLM, quantity 1-50pcs is around 2-7 working days.
For exact lead time, we will confirm exact timelines in our formal quotation.
Which surface finish/heat treatment options do you provide?
We provide anodizing, bead blasting, powder coating, polishing, plating, annealing quenching, surface hardening, etc. Available finishes depend on the base material and part geometry. For more details, see our surface finishing and heat treatment pages.
Can you recommend materials for my project?
Yes, we can send you material selection suggestion. Or for more material selection guide, you would check our material selection page, where you will find slection guide of CNC machining materials, injection molding materials, rapid prototyping materials, sheet metal materials, precision die casting materials, etc.
